APPLY FOR AID Financial aid comes in the form of grants, scholarships, loans and federal work study (FWS). To maximize your funding options, submit the FAFSA every year at fafsa.gov . Ohio State’s federal school code is 003090 . Submit the FAFSA by February 1 every year to ensure consideration for scholarships and other institutional aid. Students will automatically be considered for grants and merit scholarships. Ohio State Newark offers a number of special scholarships that require a separate application. Visit go.osu.edu/newarkscholarships . CHECK YOUR STATUS View your financial aid status, aid offer and other important information at buckeyelink.osu. edu > My Buckeye Link > View Financial Aid > Aid Year > SFA Status or Aid Summary. ACCEPTING AID If eligible, grants will be automatically accepted and applied toward students’ tuition and fees. To accept FWS and Federal Stafford Loans, go to the Aid Summary page in BuckeyeLink, select “Accept/ Decline Aid” and follow all prompts. If a PLUS Loan is approved, the parent will also need to sign a PLUS MPN at studentaid.gov > Complete Aid Process > Parent PLUS MPN. STUDENT EMPLOYMENT Student employment consists of both FWS and non-FWS positions. Students do not have to be offered FWS to apply for student employment. FWS is NOT applied toward tuition and fees. It must be earned by working in a student employment position. Students will be paid bi-weekly for time worked. Current job openings and an application are located at workday.osu.edu .
