Fast track your career Get Job Ready Fast: Enter the workforce in just a few months with a certificate or two years with a degree from COTC. We offer short-term certificates that can be completed in as little as one semester, one-year certificates and two-year applied associate degrees focused on the training you need for a career. Credit for Life Experience: COTC may grant credit for learning that has taken place in a variety of ways other than in the traditional classroom. We will review your experience individually to assess the number of credits we can grant toward your degree. Prior learning credit is awarded for college-level learning that occurs through various experiences: > military training or certifications > industry or workplace-obtained training or certifications > national standardized test results > credit hours completed at an Ohio career or technical center Real-World Experience: Getting ahead in today’s job market means more than a degree. Employers look for new employees who have knowledge, skills and experience related to the field. All COTC programs require students to gain real-world experience through an internship, co-op, practicum, clinical, fieldwork or service learning experience. These opportunities help prepare students for their first job in their chosen industry. Non-Credit Training For Work: When you need to improve your skills but do not need a degree, the Workforce Development Innovation Center offers technical and soft skills enhancement.
